Según he leido, Disney y TLG han firmado un acuerdo sobre tres nuevas franquicias basadas en personajes Disney y Pixar.

Estas serían Toy Story y Cars, disponibles a partir de Junio de 2010, coincidiendo con el estreno de Toy Story 3; y Prince of Persia, disponible a partir de Abril de 2010, también coincidiendo con el estreno de la peli Prince of Persia: Sands of Time.

Las líneas sobre las que sacarán material serían System (Toy Story y Prince of Persia) y Duplo (Toy Story y Cars)

Disney and LEGO Group Announce Strategic Licensing Relationship

The LEGO Group and Disney Consumer Products have announced a multi-year licensing agreement that gives the world's premiere construction toy brand access to an extensive portfolio of renowned Disney and Disney Pixar properties. LEGO and LEGO DUPLO products are currently in development for three franchises -- Disney Pixar's Toy Story and Cars, and Prince of Persia -- all scheduled to launch in 2010.

Children's imaginations will go "To infinity and beyond" when, beginning in 2010, they will be able to re-create the adventures of Buzz Lightyear and Woody with LEGO toys inspired by the TOY STORY franchise. TOY STORY-themed construction sets will be available on both LEGO DUPLO and LEGO System platforms, building the adventure and fun for children ages 2-12. LEGO System products based on TOY STORY and TOY STORY 2 will launch in January 2010, to be followed in May by construction sets based on the new animated feature, TOY STORY 3, scheduled to hit theaters in Disney Digital 3D June 2010. Toy Story-themed LEGO DUPLO products launch in June 2010.

Lightning McQueen will rev his engine at the starting line of a DUPLO portfolio that will have young builders creating and exploring the high-octane world of the CARS franchise. The CARS-themed LEGO DUPLO line will feature iconic scenes from Radiator Springs and the Piston Cup Championship raceway and will feature favorite Cars characters like McQueen, Mater and Sally. CARS-themed LEGO DUPLO products are scheduled to launch in June 2010.

A line of LEGO System construction toys based on Walt Disney Pictures' and Jerry Bruckheimer Films' PRINCE OF PERSIA: SANDS OF TIME, produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, directed by Mike Newell and scheduled to release in May 2010 is also in development. The film, based on the best-selling video game franchise of the same name, stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Ben Kingsley, Alfred Molina and Gemma Arterton in an epic tale of Prince Dastan's struggle to stop an evil ruler from unleashing a sandstorm that could destroy the world. PRINCE OF PERSIA-themed LEGO products are scheduled to launch in April 2010.

Menos mal que no es de mi gusto (en forma de LEGO, porque Pixar es genial).

Esperaremos a ver el resultado, porque el precio seguro que no va a ser más bajo...

A mi hijo pequeño le encanta Cars. Es uno de los mayores fans de Rayo McQueen.

Pero teniendo en cuenta que ya empieza a pasar del Duplo y prefiere hacer cosas con el "Lego de papá", para cuando llegue en 2010 va a ser tarde ...  :-[

¿Sería yo capaz de construir un Rayo McQueen con ladrillos normales? ¿Conseguiría tener el tiempo necesario?

Estupendo! Quizás Lego dedique parte de sus recursos de otras lineas a estas lineas nuevas y asi saquen menos sets Star Wars / Technic y mi dolorido bolsillo pueda descansar un poco de Legos en 2010, ya que estas nuevas lineas seguro que están muy chulas pero no me llaman nada a priori  ;D ;D ;D

Entiendo por un lado que sacar franquicias hace más fácil vender un producto a un público nuevo seguidor de esa línea. Por otro, las franquicias tienen un precio elevado... Mientras siguen sacando cosas interesantes en la linea Technic por mi pueden hacer lo que sea.

Si consiguen recrear de forma chula a los personajes de Toy Story con piezas compatibles a las minifigs, caerán unos cuantos.

Algo que me parece irónico, es que LEGO no apareció como juguete en Toy Story, si mal no recuerdo.

Tengo una noticia de algo que NO saldrá en 2009 por lo que es más probable que salga en 2010 ::)

Online multiplayer game LEGO Universe won't be coming out this year as planned, the LEGO Group told Kotaku this morning.

"Within the company we have made a strategic decision within LEGO to make a delay of LEGO Universe. It will not be coming out in 2009," said Mark Hansen, director of business development for the LEGO Group. "The reason is, we have a luxury right now, the business is going good. We have products launching that are not digital, the physical products, with them going so well we don't want to take focus away from them."

While Hansen couldn't say if the game would come out even in 2010, he was adamant that LEGO Group remains committed to the online multiplayer game being developed by NetDevil.
